RASHTRAPATI BHAVAN
The President of India is the nominal head of the executive and also the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces.
The office was first created when India became a republic on January 26 1950, the year the Constitution of India came into force. The President is elected indirectly by an electoral college comprising both Houses of Parliament and the legislative assembly members of all states.
Dr. Babu Rajendra Prasad was the first president of India. India has had 15 Presidents till date and the first woman to hold the post was Pratibha Patil in the year 2007. The second women and from 1st Tribal community (santali) president Draupadi Murmu in office currently as 15th president of India.
